| These projects represent the major research focus of AW&R. Aquatic systems are the primary target although research in terrestrial systems is also conducted. Most staff and students of AWAR are involved in one of these five core projects. | |

| Research outside of these core projects is also done by AW&R. These mostly include post-graduate projects and small research projects, including consultancies. | |
